With Morning Mist and Silver Sun

Mist descends on St Boniface Down frequently in the Winter. It rolls in from the sea obscuring a vast blue sea to the South and lush rolling hills to the North. You can see a long way from the Isle of Wight’s highest point, Culver to the East and sometimes even the Needles, far off toward the west. But not when the most rolls in, then blue skies become opaque white and trees appear suddenly, seemingly from nowhere.

It was so on the day we photographed Lucy’s sister Eliza and her betrothed, Ed. The mist was particularly heavy that day and incredibly chilly, but the pair donned layers and ventured out with us to find landmarks to break up the solid, white backdrop. The downs felt insulated, safe and softly beautiful and Eliza and Ed embodied the mysterious moors as they took their moments in front of the camera.

We love them because they give us all a chance to get to know each other and for you to be comfortable in front of the camera in a relaxed and informal setting before the excitement of your wedding day and all that it entails.
