Tina & Stephen

Kingston Manor

From Kingston to Kingston

Tina and Stephen travelled from their home on the beautiful Caribbean island of Jamaica to the picturesque Isle of Wight to be wed close to Stephen’s family. Although Stephen was raised in London, his parents and one of his sisters had moved to the island later in life, and so it was here that the couple chose for their nuptials. In the run-up to their wedding, we corresponded frequently by email and via Zoom calls. They had chosen the fabulous Events Co as their coordinators, so we knew they were in good hands organisationally. They chose to have their wedding service at the beautiful St Mildred’s Church in Whippingham, followed by a reception at Kingston Manor, a stately building set deep in the countryside behind Godshill.

As the couple live overseas, they were only able to visit once before their wedding day. On that visit, we met up with them to discuss the arrangements for their day and decided to do their pre-wedding shoot the day before their wedding at the same venue. It was a really nice way to ease into their wedding photography and allowed everyone to feel relaxed about the following day.

Black Tie Sack Races

The wedding itself was a sophisticated black-tie event, balanced wonderfully with a relaxed and fun-loving vibe alongside the most children we have ever seen at a wedding. The couple had thoughtfully arranged for the Events Co to provide childcare for the reception so that parents could be fully immersed in the celebrations. This careful balancing of suave dress and carefree atmosphere led to the entertaining sight of the groom and guests taking part in sack races whilst dressed head to toe in formal black and white! Later in the evening, guests from across the globe were treated to a sumptuous dinner, served alongside fantastic speeches from the groom, best man and maid of honour. As Tina and Stephen danced for the first time as husband and wife, the sun gradually set on this romantic, midsummer wedding.

Thank you for choosing us to photograph your wedding, Tina and Stephen. It was a privilege and an honour.
