Gemma and Jake married at Albert Cottage in the Summer of 2023. While Gemma and her bridal party occupied the venue’s bridal suite, Jake and his best men prepared at home. Chris was there, documenting their boy time as they chatted and joked. Jake’s twin boys were with the bridal party, so Jake made the most of his downtime before the big moment.
Meanwhile, things were much busier at Albert Cottage wedding venue. Hair and make-up was in progress, and two very excited toddlers enjoyed the new scene. The very talented Lynsey-Marie was busy beautifying the bride and her bridesmaids. Both Chris and I love photographing wedding preparations; the sense of anticipation and camaraderie is always so evident.
After several rainy days, the sun finally blazed through, giving the couple the outdoor ceremony they had dreamed of. Albert Cottage’s Pagoda is gorgeous, surrounded by a garden in bloom. The couple said their vows and were immediately deluged with a storm of confetti petals.
The couple were overjoyed to finally be man and wife. The afternoon offered refreshments and games for all their lucky guests. Choosing a change from tradition, the couple chose to skip speeches. Instead, they played a great game of ‘Mr and Mrs’, using their shoes to indicate their answers to much hilarity.
Gemma and Jake’s wedding day was wonderfully full of love. Their twin boys spent the day toddling around, looking surprisingly non-plussed by all the strange goings-on! Chris and I had a really lovely time documenting the day. It is always a privilege to be part of an event so full of love. Thank you both for choosing us!
Gem’s Bridalwear supplied the beautiful wedding dress, expertly complemented by alterations by Tara. The groom and his party wore classic suits from M&S, and the bridal shoes came from Paradox, London. The venue’s beautiful floral arrangements and additional decor were provided by Inspired Events. Guests enjoyed a delectable wedding cake from Centrepiece Cakes, and entertainment included Crazy Golf from Finishing Touches and a Photo Booth from The Party Shop. Ensuring the day ran without a hitch, Chris Kill from Inspired Island Events provided invaluable on-the-day co-ordination, working closely with the team at Albert Cottage.
