Ellie and Jake were the first couple to book us to photograph a 2025 wedding, over two years before their big day. This level of care and organisation accurately reflected the attention they paid to the entire process. From the start, it was clear that the deep love they had for each other would permeate our experience together.
Their wedding day dawned damp and grey, much like many English summer mornings. However, it promised sunshine. Ellie prepared in the charming cottage at their venue, Ventnor Botanic Garden, with her best friend and children. Meanwhile, Jake was just down the road in Bonchurch with his brother. As the couple made their way to their beautiful garden ceremony, the clouds quickly parted, revealing a glorious summer’s day.
Following the ceremony, we took a short walk to capture the couple amidst the stunning surroundings. Ellie and Jake then joined their guests for speeches and a delicious wedding breakfast. Guests especially enjoyed the pegging game, which has to be the best value for money wedding entertainment ever! Finally, the evening concluded with dancing and sparklers. We had a wonderful time capturing this Ventnor Botanic Garden wedding. Thank you, Ellie and Jake, for choosing us.
Jake chose to stay with his best man at Quince Cottage in Bonchurch. The wedding venue, Ventnor Botanic Garden, provided the catering, including the impressive chocolate fountain. Lucy Beard from Lula Weddings kept guests entertained during the afternoon, and Dave Wiltshire provided the evening DJing.
Ellie and Jake’s cake was made by Cupcakes and Cookies, and the flowers came from Chezabelles. The bride managed her own make-up, whilst Donna Jones styled her hair. Ellie found her wedding dress at Wed2Be and Jake sourced his suit from Suit Culture. Their rings came from H Samuel, and they purchased many of their props from Etsy. Finally, https://quirkywoodcateringcompany.co.uk provided the decor, and the couple supplied their own sparklers.
