Heidi and Adam’s beautiful mid-summer pagan wedding was a true wonder and a joy. The day was replete with heartfelt, home-created decor and thoughtful detail. The couple crafted their unique decorations themselves. They dried flowers from their own garden, fashioned a papier-mâché Green Man, made skull candles, and burned Norse runes into wooden table mats. They foraged for and installed the hanging flower garlands and strung fairy lights, perfectly completing the look.
The couple were married during a Norse Pagan Hand-fasting Ceremony at Appuldurcombe House near Ventnor. Rik Kiddle from Wolfguard, an Isle of Wight historical re-enactment group, expertly curated and officiated the event. Rik, Heidi, and Adam collaborated closely, crafting a ceremony rich with ritual and deep meaning. The couple drank mead and ate cake as close family members called blessings at the cardinal directions. Their hands were tied, they jumped the broom, and the couple were officially joined in matrimony.
Later, family and friends joined the couple in breaking their fast. The Events Co. created a wonderful feast. Speeches were made, toasts were raised, and more mead was heartily imbibed.
Their afternoon and evening were filled with dancing and pure joy. The Moonshine Morris Dancers brought vigour and energy to the proceedings. Heidi and Adam even joined them for their very first dance as a married couple! This celebratory theme continued into the evening with a vibrant Ceilidh, expertly presided over by The Caulkheads.
Photographing Heidi and Adam’s wedding was an absolute pleasure. Their day was unique, personal, and utterly full of love.
On the day co-ordination and catering including an ice-cream bike was by The Events Co. Heidi chose a bohemian wedding dress from 1840 Bridal and her shoes from Esska. Bridesmaid dressed were from Disturbia. The couple chose rings from Eden Jewellery on Etsy. Wedding Favours were corn dollys made by Pat Burgess.
